More Fertile Soils with Ecological farming

Level of soil fertility is one of the most important factors for productivity and crop growth. That’s why the practice of ecological farming can improve and enhance the productive capacity of the land; as it gives more importance to the handling of organic matter and the biological characteristics of the soil.

More Fertile Soils with Ecological farming

The continued expansion of a sterile and arid soil due to poor tillage practices (conventional farming), can be reflected in a nutritional deficiency in our diet, as well as potential health problems.

Fertile soils for a health nutrition

According to the Spanish Society of Ecological Agriculture (SEAE in Spain), “the current soils situation is worrying since over 60% of agricultural soil in Spain suffers erosion or becomes urbanised. Conventional soil management also causes pollution and fertility loss.”

Also, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has declared 2015 as the International Year of Soils under the slogan Healthy Soils for a Healthy Life, with the aim of raising awareness about the need for fertile soils for food safety and essential ecosystem functions.

Eco cultivated aloe vera

At Atlantia, we are fervently commited to ecological farming as bases for soil fertility and subsequent nutritious diet improvement; as we develop all our products using as raw material eco cultivated Aloe vera from the Canary Islands.

Thanks to the unique conditions that Archipelago brings (warm environment, arid and breezy), we can say that our Aloe Vera is a hundred percent organically grown: it’s not transgenic (GM) and no synthetic fertilisers, pesticides nor fungicides have been used in it’s tillage.

In addition, as already proposed, at Atlantia we have renewed our CRAE certification (Eco Cultivated) for the Aloe Vera juice we use. Supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Water of the Canary Islands Government.
