June 5th marks World Environment Day, a key moment to reflect on the impact we have on our planet and how both individual and business decisions can contribute to its protection. At Atlantia, this awareness is not a trend nor a marketing tool — it has been the foundation of everything we do for over two decades.
Commitment from the roots: certified organic aloe vera
Our work begins in the volcanic lands of the Canary Islands, where we cultivate our star ingredient: Aloe vera barbadensis Miller, grown under exceptional conditions of light, temperature and soil quality.
This crop follows the principles of organic farming, under the supervision of CRAE (Canarian Committee of Organic Agriculture) and is registered in the ROPE (Official Register of Organic Producers), the official EU-recognised certification system under Regulation (EU) 2018/848.
Unlike other general labels, ROPE guarantees direct, local, and transparent traceability, from field to lab, and ensures that our crops are free of pesticides, synthetic fertilisers, and practices harmful to the soil and biodiversity.
Circular economy: nothing is wasted
After the fresh aloe juice is extracted, the remaining leaf fibre is not discarded. Instead, it is reused as natural compostto nourish other agricultural fields across the Canary Islands. This is a concrete example of circular economy in dermocosmetics, reducing waste and returning to the land what it gave us.
Certified environmental management
Our commitment to sustainability is endorsed by the ISO 14001:2015 certification granted by AENOR, which recognises our responsible environmental management practices.
We also prioritise partnerships with local and regional suppliers, reducing transport-related emissions and supporting the Canarian economy.
Conscious beauty, from the inside out
At Atlantia, we believe that real beauty is inseparable from respect for nature. It’s not only about caring for the skin with effective ingredients, but about building an ethical and sustainable relationship with our environment.
On this World Environment Day, we reaffirm our mission:
offering clean, effective dermocosmetics deeply rooted in the land that inspires them.
